An information hour for first-year students to strengthen commitment to the ideas of cooperation and tolerance

An information hour was held for first-year students on the eve of International Day of Tolerance in order to strengthen commitment to the ideas of cooperation and tolerance, spread respectful attitude to different points of view, and harmonize the relationship between different social and national groups. An information hour was held in the assembly hall of the Kostanay Higher Medical College on November 8, 2019.

The event was held under the motto: "If everyone is tolerant of each other, then together we will make our world tolerant." November 16, residents of many countries celebrate International Day of Tolerance. This holiday was established in 1995 as a result of the adoption of the Declaration of Principles of Tolerance by UNESCO Member States.

The event was attended by Ergashvoy Ermatovich Kholmetov, chairman of the Tajik and Uzbek ethnocultural association "Sharq", and Sergey Vaginakovich Grigoryan, deputy chairman of the "Erebuni" ethnocultural association. They talked about the work of their associations, told the story of the settlement of representatives of their nationalities in Kazakhstan and urged modern youth to be patient, kind, happy and understand each other. The event contributed to attracting the attention of young people to the problem of mutual understanding and the ability to live together in order to build a peaceful future. Such an event helps to teach to recognize the diversity of people of different nationalities, their opinions, customs and traditions.

Students asked questions to guests, read poems about kindness. The video “Tolerance” was watched by students with great interest.

At the end of the information hour, guests and students got acquainted with a book and magazine exhibition on the theme: “Tolerance is friendship.”
